Tool House is a service design project for improving the social life in Cigdem Neighbourhood in Ankara/Turkey. The project had started with research in Cigdem Neighbourhood, and interviews with residents of Cigdem. After finding initial ideas in the project, feedback from participants (residents of Cigdem) shaped the project.

Cigdem neighbourhood is a calm living area, especially for retired residents. One of the findings we have ended during research was the need of hobby activities for people who are not active in working life.

Tool house is a service in which residents borrow handy tools for their DIY projects or home repairs from the tool library. Moreover, Tool House has reference books, magazines on woodworking and tool using; and scheduled DIY courses.

Tool house had become a realized project in Cigdem Neighbourhood, thanks to efforts of residents.
